ePlus Sponsors ISSA InfoSeCon 2019 Conference, Provides Unprecedented Access to GRIT Program Students
HERNDON, VA – October 24, 2019 – ePlus inc. (NASDAQ NGS: PLUS – news) today announced that it will be sponsoring the Triangle InfoSeCon 2019 Conference on Friday, October 25, in Raleigh, NC, and in partnership with Okta, presenting a breakout session on identity and access management. In addition to its sponsorship of this premier event hosted by the ISSA Raleigh Chapter, ePlus will be providing an unprecedented educational opportunity for a group of middle school students and their teachers by securing them full access to the show and all presentations.
Coming at the tail end of its national CyberSmart educational campaign on best practices in cyber security, ePlus’ breakout session is entitled: Trust No One: The Power of Identity & Access Management. The session will cover how a zero trust security model provides organizational network access without risking the exposure of important data and will take place at 4:10pm in Room 302A, Track 3.
In addition to the regular show attendees, seven middle school students who are recent graduates of ePlus’ Girls Re-Imagining Technology (GRIT) program from West Millbrook Magnet Middle School, along with two of their teachers, will be in attendance. The GRIT program exists to introduce diverse groups of middle school girls to technology-focused career possibilities, with an emphasis on cyber security and AI (Artificial Intelligence).
Working with ISSA, ePlus has arranged for the students to have access to the full show and presentations in support of their continued learning about cyber security issues and careers. They will also have the privilege of attending “After Dark,” a hands-on event where they will use programming skills to build various styles of robots.
“We’re excited to be a part of InfoSeCon and especially to be there with the talented group of young women who recently graduated from our GRIT program,” said Lee Waskevich, Vice President, Security Solutions at ePlus. “One of the biggest challenges our industry is facing right now is a growing talent shortage. There is also a well-acknowledged shortage of women in technology fields. The GRIT program, which is helping to get girls interested in STEAM and cyber security at an early age, will help address those challenges. We’re proud to be leading the charge.”
